Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum


The Baba-Nyonya Heritage Museum, located in the heart of Malacca, offers visitors a glimpse into the rich history and culture of the Peranakan community, also known as Baba-Nyonya. This unique group consists of descendants of Chinese immigrants who settled in Malaysia and intermarried with local Malays. Housed in a beautifully preserved Straits Chinese shophouse, the museum features an array of artifacts, including traditional clothing, jewelry, and ceramics, that illustrate the vibrant lifestyle and customs of the Baba-Nyonya people.

Visitors can enjoy guided tours highlighting the community’s unique language, cuisine, and traditions, including their delicious spicy dishes and colorful wedding customs.
